Dear Great Aunt Barbara
My Great Aunt was the sweetest person to me. She was like my second mother to me. We did
gardening at her home. We spent time at her Fire Island Summer home on long island. She spent allot
of time with me and we would play games and go to the beach and to the bay. We would paint seashells
and save and sell them. We also had a lemonade stand. She loved her great great nephew and niece's
Jeremy and Mary Beth. I wish she had lived long enough to meet Kaylee. I hope she is looking down
on us and smiling. If there was anything I could say to her now it would be that I love her and miss
her so much. I love you Barbara, you have helped me so much. I miss you Auntie. Grandma Sandy sends
her love to. I have your picture in my room. Uncle Gordon's too. See you someday.

BARBARA VIRGINIA VANDERBEEK Port Washington, N.Y. Barbara Virginia VanderBeek, of Port Washington, a
retired executive secretary to the vice president of Continental Can Co. in Manhattan, died
Thursday, April 15, 2004 at her home. She was 91. She was born May 20, 1912 in Grand Junction,
Colo., the daughter of the late Blaine and Estella Frank Burgess. She was the widow of the late
Francis Vanderbeek III; he died June 8, 1965. She is survived by her sister, Gladys Zoeller of
Flushing; also nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main
St., Port Jervis on Monday, April 19 from 12 to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1
p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen Huston officiating. Burial will be at Glen Spey
Cemetery, Glen Spey. Funeral arrangements by Gray-Parker Funeral Home. For information, directions

Dear Aunt Barbara
God I miss you so much. I put up the Christmas tree today with Kaylee and grandma Sandy. I made Xmas cards. I love you, love Jeremy, Kaylee, Mary Beth, Jeremy Eric, Maria, Sophie, Shannon, Rebecca and Jack.
